Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next fitness band, Mi Band 4. The new fitness band from Xiaomi has been confirmed to launch this year and it could arrive as early as April.
Huami, the company behind Xiaomi’s wearables recently confirmed the launch of Mi Band 4. At Huami’s earnings call, David Cui, the company’s Chief Financial Officer said, “For Mi Band 4, it’s going to be in this year. It will be in 2019. But I’m not sure, it’s going to be in March and April. But, it is going to be in this year.”
With the launch of Mi Band 4 coming soon, the fitness band has also visited the rumour mill. Xiaomi Mi Band 4 was spotted on Bluetooth certification site revealing that the fitness band will come in two versions. Mi Band 4 (XMSH08HM) comes with support for NFC, while the XMSH07HM model lacks the same. This would a major upgrade over its predecessor, Mi Band 3.
The listing also showed the Mi Band 4 will support Bluetooth 5.0. In comparison, Mi Band 3 offers Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity. There are some rumours around the Mi Band 4 coming with an ECG sensor, but details are still scarce on that. Another upgrade on the Mi Band 4 is expected to be a colour display.
The details on Mi Band 4 reveal to be a major upgrade over the Mi Band 3. Launched last September in India, Mi Band 3 is priced at Rs 1,999. It comes with a 0.78-inch OLED display, a 110mAh battery, and heart sensor.
