Watch: Kashmir grows 350 metric tons of strawberry annually, says DG Horticulture

Srinagar: Director General Horticulture Kashmir, Aijaz Bhat on Thursday said the Kashmir valley produced 350 metric tons of strawberry annually and that the J&K government was committed to provide all possible support to the growers of the season’s first crop.


“Maximum production of strawberry is in Gaasu Khimber (in city outskirts). It is also grown in Baramulla and Bandipora and Kashmir annually produces 350 metric tons of strawberry.

Around 41 metric tonnes is grown in Jammu. We will provide all possible help and support to the growers. We conduct regular camps to aid growers,” the Director General Horticulture Kashmir said.
