VP Kashmir Chamber Dr Abdul Majid Mir dies in Delhi road mishap

Srinagar: Vice President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCC&I), Dr Abdul Majid Mir, has passed away in a road accident in Delhi Tuesday evening.

According to reports, Dr Mir was hit by a two-wheeler while he was out on the road in New Delhi buying grocery. He died almost instantly, reports added.

Dr Mir was in the capital with his family. His body, according to reports, was taken to AIIMS for medico-legal procedure after which it will be flown to Kashmir, subject to weather and air-traffic, which has been suspended since last Sunday.

The news has shocked the business community in Kashmir.

KCCI president Sheikh Ashiq announced the death on his personal Twitter handle Wednesday morning.

“Dear friends, have very disturbing and heart wrenching news to share that one of our friend, Comrade, elder brotherly figure and business leader who was vice president the KCCI Dr Abdul Majid Mir is no more, has passed yesterday evening in road accident in Delhi.details awaited,” Ashiq tweeted.

Former FCIK President, Ashraf Mir, while extending his condolences to the bereaved family, said it was a heart wrenching news.

Javid Anim, Managing Director of Arco Group has also extended his condolences to the family.

Ali Muhammad Shirazi, prominent businessman while terming the demise of Dr Majid as shocking and heart wrenching, has extended condolences to the bereaved family.
