KULGAM, OCTOBER 30: As a mark of honour and part of commemorating the sacrifices of police martyrs, Volleyball and Badminton tournaments inaugurated on October 20 concluded today at DPL Kulgam in which multiple teams of different schools/villages of District Kulgam participated.
The grand finale of the Volleyball tournament was played between YSS volleyball club and Shouch volleyball Club in which Shouch volleyball club beat the opposition 3-1. Also, the singles badminton tournament concluded and in the final match Saqib Showkat beat Zahid Mushtaq by 21-09 in the first set and 21-12 in the 2nd set. SSP Kulgam awarded all the winners and runner up teams with cash prizes and trophies.
During the closing ceremony, SSP Kulgam in his speech appreciated all the teams for taking part in the event. He also stressed upon the young players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports. On the said occasion, other senior officers including DySP DAR Kulgam, DySP PC Hatipora were present.
