Srinagar: Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is on Mission Kashmir.
During this visit, he avoided the media during his Kashmir visit. However, he gladly gave an interview to a schoolgirl.
During his visit, he met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and also visited the Delhi Public School Srinagar on Friday.
`Fashion’ director was interviewed by RJ Qaria, a student of DPS.
During the interview in English and Urdu uploaded on Facebook by the school, Bhandarkar expressed a desire to shoot films in Kashmir.
“I am looking for a subject and I have been coming regularly to Kashmir for the past 14-15 years. I love Kashmiri food, and people, and the climate here is good. If I get a good subject, I will definitely shoot over here,” he said.
The filmmaker who was conferred with a Padma Shri for his contribution to Hindi cinema has directed and produced award-winning hit films like Chandni Bar, Fashion, and Corporate. Known for his sensitive and nuanced filmmaking, the filmmaker has been acclaimed for producing hard-hitting and impactful cinema.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood director welcomed the announcement of a film policy during his meeting with the LG.
“It was indeed an honor to meet Shri @manojsinha_ ji LG of J&K in Raj Bhavan, #Srinagar. He Shared a wonderful vision about the Film policy, which has given new hope to the Indian film industry in #Kashmir (sic),” he said in a tweet.
He also shared a photograph of his Kashmir visit on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
