BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 18: The UT-level Inter-District Yoga Competition for all age groups officially started at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Baramulla.
Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K, the prestigious event is being hosted by the DYSS Baramulla.
The inaugural session of the competition featured the participation of boys in the Under-14 category, with teams from 15 districts across Jammu & Kashmir converging in Baramulla to showcase their skills in the ancient practice of yoga.
The event was inaugurated by the Principal of GHSS Baramulla, who extended a warm welcome to the participants and inspired them to embrace the discipline of yoga, highlighting its significance in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
DYSSO Baramulla, also welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to the YSS J&K for entrusting Baramulla with the responsibility of hosting this major competition. He emphasized the role of yoga in fostering harmony, balance, and overall health, and encouraged the young participants to continue incorporating it into their daily lives.
The first day of the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and a display of remarkable talent from the young athletes, setting the stage for an exciting series of events in the days to come.
The Yoga competition will continue with participation from all age groups, fostering a spirit of camaraderie, discipline, and healthy competition among the youth of the Union Territory.
