A young couple drowned in the Palolem Beach on Tuesday evening. The duo had reportedly gone to Goa to celebrate Valentine’s Day without informing their families.
As per reports, the deceased have been identified as Supriya Dubey (26) and Vibhu Sharma (27).
As soon as police received information about the incident, a team reached the spot and brought the bodies to the shore with the help of lifeguards.
Police rushed the duo to the Konkan Social Health Centre, where the doctors declared them brought dead. Police have sent the bodies for an autopsy.
According to Konkan Police, both Supriya and Vibhu were residents of Uttar Pradesh, who had come to Goa for a vacation.
While Supriya was living in Bangalore for work, Vibhu was living in Delhi. Police said Supriya and Vibhu were relatives and their families were not aware that they were in Goa.
