Srinagar, Dec 11: Kashmir has become one of the top 10 most-Googled travel destinations in India this year.
According to Google’s India’s Year in Search 2024, Kashmir, as per Google has been a popular choice for domestic as well as foreign tourists in 2024.
Other notable destinations that made to top 10 list include Azerbaijan, Bali, and Manali. The list also features Kazakhstan, Jaipur, Georgia, Malaysia, Ayodhya, and South Goa, all of which have drawn significant attention from travelers.
Google, every year, releases a list of the destinations, that are searched by a maximum number of users across India.
Kashmir, this year, has secured ninth place in the list of top 10 Googled destinations in India.
Last year, Kashmir surpassed Switzerland as the most Googled destination.
This shift in online search behavior underscores the curiosity of globetrotters to explore the valley of Kashmir.
Tourism in Kashmir has experienced an uptick, with travelers increasingly drawn to the unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance that the region offers.
In the first nine months of the year, the valley has recorded 2.6 million tourist arrivals including 35,254 international visitors.
Though the valley recorded a dip in the tourist flow post-August, travel agents believed that the winter was going to be a successful season for Kashmir tourism again.
“Kashmir is a dream destination for every tourist, be it domestic or international. We witnessed a lucrative first half of the year and now the flow is again increasing. We are hopeful for a successful winter season. We are eagerly waiting for a big snowfall so that more tourists visit Kashmir to enjoy winter games,” said Umar Ahmad, a prominent travel agent.
