Tral residents seek reinstatement of Director SKIMS

Srinagar, Jan 10; People from Tral town of Pulwama staged protest on Wednesday, seeking re-instatement of the recently removed director of the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical and Science (SKIMS) Dr Abdul Gani Ahanger.
The protesters under the banner head ‘Civil Society Tral’ staged protest and demanded reinstatement of Ahanger as soon as possible.
The protest was led by Farooq Ahmad Trali, chairman of Senior Citizens Council Tral (SCCT).
General Secretary of Bar Association, G N Shaheen was also part of the protest.
The protesters resented government action of removing Dr Abdul Gani Ahanger from the post of director SKIMS.
The protesters were carrying the placards and banners which that read “We stand with you A G Ahanger,”
“If the Government fails to revoke the order, the Sub-District hospital Tral and 120 adjacent villages will come on the roads and distract the law and order and the government has to be responsible for that,” said Nazir Ahmad Trali.
He said that Director of prestigious institution cannot be made scapegoat for the wrongdoings of others.
Nazir also claimed that “we appeal to the government that A G Ahanger should be re-instated at Director’s post with respect,”
