Kupwara, Sep 6: A speeding school bus mowed down a septuagenarian while injuring three others in Lolab area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The incident occurred in Doniwari village on Thursday morning.
A police official said that a school bus (JK09A- 9261) hit four civilians among which an elderly person succumbed to his injuries. The police official identified the deceased as Qudratullah Andrabi (68) son of Late Syed Sadat Andrabi of Doniwari, Lolab.
The bus that belongs to a private school was seized by police, however, the driver managed to escape from the spot. “We have started a manhunt to nab the driver. A formal case has been registered in this regard,” the police official from police station Sogam said adding that other three wounded civilians are stated to be stable.
