Srinagar, March 27: The non-gazetted employees of planning, development and monitoring department have shown serious concern over the failure of the authorities to conduct the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
The employees said that the committee has not met for the last so many years, resulting in the cessation of promotions at Gazetted level in general and at non-gazetted level in particular.
“The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of Economics & Statistics Department and its parent Department, Planning Development & Monitoring Department of J&K has not met from a long time, “they said.
As per the sources, the last DPC meet was held in the 2011.
“The statistical officers (NG), who were elevated to the post of I/C assistant directors in the same year have been waiting for the DPC meet.”
Besides, the statistical assistants (NG), junior statistical assistants (NG), key punching operators (NG) who were elevated to the post of incharge statistical officers (NG), incharge statistical assistants and incharge junior statistical assistants respectively in the year 2013 have also been waiting for the DPC meet, sources said.
The employees said that the department was directed by the High court to conduct the DPC meet after every six months.
