SANJY 2024: Divisional Yatra Health Coordination Committee holds meet

SRINAGAR: As per the directions of Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, J&K Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS), Director Health Services,Kashmir (DHSK) Dr Mushtaq A Rather today convened a coordination committee meeting in view of upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 at Swastha Bhawan, Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, Bemina wherein various stakeholders departments involved in delivering health care services during the holy pilgrimage took part.

At the outset of the meeting DHSK welcomed all the officers and gave a detailed powerpoint presentation depicting an in-depth overview of the health care action plan set in place by the Directorate for upcoming Yatra.While speaking on the occasion he laid emphasis on importance of coordination among various stakeholder departments for efficient and foolproof health care delivery system.

During the course of meeting various significant issues that have inter-sectoral coordination concerns were discussed threadbare for smooth functioning of the health care delivery system during the holy pilgrimage.

The agenda of the meeting was discussed extensively with keen focus on current status update regarding infrastructure, status of medical facility setup en’route yatra,medical arrangements for the pilgrims established by different agencies, coordination with health department for emergency situations, deployment of medical teams, inventory of medical supplies and equipment, emergency response which includes protocols of handling medical emergency and referrals, coordination with local hospitals and air evacuation plans, coordination and communication between the health department and other stakeholders, real time information sharing platform (single point contact), regular coordination meetings etc.

Director Health Kashmir during the meeting also highlighted about newer initiatives and innovations which were appreciated by all the officers present in the meeting.The aim and objective of such initiatives is to further strengthen health care services en’route both pahalgam and Baltal Axis. 

The participants which attended the meeting were Brigadier Medical 15th Corps, Commandant 92 Base Hospital, CMO Anantnag, I/C CMO Ganderbal, Medical Superintendents (Bone & Joint Hospital,Police Hospital) I/C MS DH Ganderbal,  Assistant Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dy. Medical Superintendent SKIMS MCH Bemina, Officers from State Disaster Response Force(SDRF),  Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Office In-charge Yatra Unit DHSK, Nodal Officer Yatra (Baltal/Pahalgam). While concluding the meeting DHSK expressed gratitude to all the officers and emphasised on focussing with utmost dedication to achieve robust and effective coordination among various stakeholders involved in health care delivery system during the yatra.
