Sakeena inaugurates Rs 3.66 Cr CSB

TANGMARG, NOVEMBER 18: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health, and Medical Education, Sakeena Masood, today inaugurated a new Composite School Building at Chandilora, Tangmarg, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.66 crore.

The modern facility aims to improve the educational infrastructure in the region, providing students with a better learning environment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Member Legislative Assembly Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Higher Education, Director Social Welfare Department, Director Health Services Kashmir and other senior officers.

While Speaking on the occasion, Sakeena Masood highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education through enhanced infrastructure and better resources. She stated, “This new school building is a reflection of our determination to provide our youth with the best possible learning environment. While we continue to focus on building infrastructure, it is equally important for parents, teachers, and the community to collaborate in guiding our students toward realizing their full potential.”

Sakeena Masood also acknowledged the efforts of the local administration in making the project a success, emphasizing that such developments are only possible when everyone works together towards a common goal. “This infrastructure is a step forward in ensuring that the children of Tangmarg have access to top-tier educational resources,” she added.

After the inauguration, the Minister visited the Government Degree College (GDC) Tangmarg, where she interacted with the faculty and students.

During her visit, she reviewed the infrastructure and facilities at the college and engaged in discussions about improving the academic environment for higher education students. She reiterated the importance of investing in higher education and supporting students in achieving academic excellence. She assured that the government would continue to improve the resources available for higher education institutions to ensure the future success of youth.

The Minister’s visit also marked a significant focus on the empowerment of female students, encouraging them to pursue higher education and take advantage of the many opportunities available to them. She emphasized the importance of providing platforms for young women to succeed, both at the state and national levels.

Later, Sakeena Masood chaired a meeting with senior officers to discuss winter preparedness.

The meeting was attended by the officers from various departments including Health, Education, Social Welfare, JKPDC, and local administration. The primary agenda of the meeting was to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services during the challenging winter months in the snow-bound areas.

The Minister discussed several key issues related to winter preparedness, including the need for timely snow clearance on roads, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, and ensuring healthcare facilities are adequately stocked with essential medicines and supplies. She asked all the departments to be proactive in preparing for winter besides ensuring that all critical services including electricity,  Drinking water, and healthcare, continue without disruption, even in the harshest conditions.

Sakeena Masood stressed the need for close monitoring of essential services in remote areas, especially those prone to heavy snowfall. She asked the officers to establish control rooms to handle emergencies and ensure efficient response systems are in place. “We are taking every measure to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents during the winter season and our priority is to ensure that no essential service is disrupted”, maintained the Minister.
