Sahay assumes charge of Principal Commissioner, IT

Srinagar, September 11: Vikram Sahay, a senior officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) from the 1992 batch, has assumed the charge of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Sahay brings with him immense experience gathered from various important assignments across the country. Sahay has also served on deputation with key Union Ministries, including the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD). His extensive experience also includes assignments in the North East region.

In his new role, Sahay’s primary focus will be on enhancing taxpayer services in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, raising awareness of voluntary tax compliance, and addressing taxpayer grievances more efficiently. By improving these areas, Sahay aims to create a more transparent and responsive tax environment, helping to build trust between taxpayers and the Income Tax Department.

The Principal Commissioner has emphasized the department’s commitment to further enhancing taxpayer services by streamlining processes and improving accessibility for the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
