Anantnag, Feb 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting to review the progress on Key projects taken up under District CAPEX Budget 2018-19 and other Flagship Programmes being implemented in the district.
The meeting was attended by JD Planning, Exens of R&B Divisions, DGM JKPCC and AEE UEED.
The DDC took sector-wise review of progress of projects undertaken under District CAPEX Budget, other flagship programmes, CRF, NABARD and centrally sponsored schemes.
The meeting was informed that an allocation of Rs 199.5 crore has been made for the district under CAPEX Budget 2018-19. Out of availability of Rs 168.06 crores, an expenditure of Rs 131 crore has been made till the end of January, 2019.
Detailed discussions were held on issues related to effective implementation of vital schemes and execution of projects like Government Medical College being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 139 crore and set to be completed by this year end.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to mobilise the available sources for effective and timely completion of developmental projects.
The DDC directed DGM JKPCC, to speed up the pace of work on GMC, Trauma Hospital and meet the three month deadline for completion of the twin health infrastructure projects.
He directed heads of all the executing agencies to submit the details of the pending projects to propose these for funding as languishing projects.
The DDC further impressed that land disputes and other bottlenecks hampering the projects should be addressed on priority. The DDC added that funding must not be a constraint for the developmental projects.
Meanwhile, the DDC directed for immediate filling of potholes, blacktopping of left out portions of town roads and ensure timely completion of Sewerage Treatment Plant, besides formulation of DPR for other two zones of the town.
Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the progress of PHE sector projects taken up under district/State CAPEX budget and centrally sponsored schemes here at a separate meeting.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulics along with Executive Engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Groundwater.
The meeting was informed that Rambeerpora – Kehribl Water Supply Scheme is nearing completion and around 43000 souls will be provided portable drinking water with the commissioning of the facility. It was informed that 585 habitations of the district have been fully covered by providing water supply to each household while as 186 are partially covered.
