Recent developments have provided conducive atmosphere to youth: CM

SRINAGAR, JUNE 07: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today said the recent developments in the State in terms of suspension of security operations by the Centre has provided a conducive atmosphere to the local youth in which they would love to nurture their creativities and display their talent. She said it has brought an attitudinal change among the youth who now see an opportunity for fulfilling their aspirations.
The Chief Minister said this while attending a Sports Conclave organized by the J&K State Sports Council in which the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh felicitated many sporting stars from the State.
Mehbooba Mufti said the positivity generated by these developments in the State needs to be sustained and taken forward so that the youth who have felt the suffocation of violence of past three decades or so are provided a congenial atmosphere in which they can fulfill their dreams and realize their aspirations.
The Chief Minister said she has all along maintained that youth of the State hold a promise as they are full of talent but that potential only needs to be honed and provided with an opportunity to display.
Earlier, the Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister felicitated cricketing stars, Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Ahmad, ace footballer, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, gymnasts, Palak Kour and Bavleen Kour, kickboxer, Tajamul Islam, wushu players, T. Angmo and Rajnider Singh besides members of Real Kashmir Football Club.
Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba; Minister for Finance, Syed Altaf Bukhari; Secretary, Sports Council, Waheed u Rehman Parra were present on the occasion.
In all around 3000 youth from across Kashmir Valley attended today’s Sports Conclave.
Chief Secretary, B B Vyas, Director General of Police, Dr S P Vaid; Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal; Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal and other senior civil and Police officers were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Union Home Minister reached Srinagar this morning on a 2-day visit to the State. He will be leaving for Jammu tomorrow.
