Raksha Bandhan: Students tie ‘Rakhi’ to PM Modi

New Delhi:  On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, school students gathered on Monday to tie ‘Rakhi’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and engage in conversations with him. The event’s highlight was the students tying ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ theme-based rakhis to PM Modi and discussing their potential contributions toward his vision of Vikshit Bharat.

Addressing a student’s query about contributing to Vikshit Bharat, PM Modi highlighted the importance of staying healthy, maintaining hygiene, focusing on studies, and being generous. The students also sang Rakhi-themed songs for PM Modi and shared joyful embraces with him.

PM Modi extended congratulations and best wishes to the students and the public for Raksha Bandhan. In an interaction with a student who tied an ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ rakhi, Modi complimented her creativity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation on Raksha Bandhan, wishing for everyone’s happiness and prosperity. “Best wishes to all countrymen on Raksha Bandhan,” PM Modi posted on X. “May this festival bring sweetness in relationships and happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in everyone’s life.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister JP Nadda extended similar wishes, praying for happiness and prosperity for all. Shah and Nadda also posted their greetings on X.

Raksha Bandhan, commonly known as Rakhi, is celebrated today (Monday). This traditional Hindu festival honors the bond of love between brothers and sisters. Sisters tie rakhis on their brother’s wrists, who in return offer gifts as a sign of love and care. The festival, deeply rooted in Indian culture, has been observed for centuries and is referenced in Hindu religious texts.
