Srinagar, July 17: Top officers of J&K Police and Army Tuesday met to discuss the overall ‘security’ situation in Kashmir and to draw out the future ‘security’ strategy.
A defence spokesperson said that the review meeting was held at District Police Lines, Kulgam.
The meeting was carried out by Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander, Dr SP Vaid, Director General of Police J&K, GOC Victor Force and IGP J&K. It was attended by the concerned Commanding Officers and SSPs apart from other personnel.
“The primary aim of the Review was to further strengthen the existing synergy among the Army, JKP, CRPF and other security agencies,” the spokesperson said.
He added that the officers deliberated upon the plans to maintain a “robust counter militancy grid” in the hinterland.
“The aspects of sharing of intelligence, joint planning, situational awareness and flow of information were deliberated upon. The local commanders also briefed on the current situation on ground, challenges being faced and the measures to be instituted to enhance efficacy of counter militancy operations,” the spokesman added.
