Addressing a massive gathering at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming Kashmir into a peaceful region once again. Sinha highlighted the significant changes brought about by PM Modi’s efforts, stating that the region, once plagued by separatism and terrorism, is now characterized by peace and smiles.
Sinha emphasised the positive transformation witnessed in the past five years, noting that no innocent lives are being lost on the streets, and street protests and pellet injuries are things of the past. He highlighted the symbolism of the tricolor flying high at Clock Tower Lal Chowk, signifying the change and reminding everyone of the peaceful Kashmir of yesteryear.
The LG expressed the people’s love and respect for PM Modi, evident from the overwhelming turnout at the stadium, with thousands standing due to the lack of seats. Sinha credited PM Modi for the development of pedestrian markets in Srinagar, likening them to those in Europe, and highlighted the introduction of nightlife and multiplex cinemas, providing new opportunities for the youth and shopkeepers.
MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendera Singh echoed Sinha’s sentiments, noting the drastic shift in Kashmir, where iPads and laptops have replaced stones and guns, and fingers once stained with blood are now weaving Pashmina. He also praised the massive turnout at Bakshi Stadium as a reflection of the people’s admiration and anticipation to hear PM Modi’s speech.
