Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for railway projects worth over Rs 85,000 crores, marking a significant boost to railway infrastructure, connectivity, and the petrochemicals sector. These projects are poised to transform the economic landscape of various states and Union Territories.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha described the event as a historic day for railway connectivity and infrastructure development in the country. He expressed gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for revolutionizing rail infrastructure and connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir.

The opening of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) at the Srinagar railway station is expected to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to passengers and create livelihood opportunities. Additionally, the ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) stalls at various locations will offer artisans from marginalized sections additional income opportunities.

The OSOP initiative aims to showcase the rich heritage of these areas, promote ‘Vocal for Local’, and strengthen the ‘One District One Product Campaign’. These stalls will enable passengers to experience and purchase authentic local goods.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated a Gati Shakti Terminal at Samba and a Rail Coach Restaurant at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway station. The Gati Shakti terminal is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing transportation networks and facilitating the smooth movement of goods across the region.
