After breaking quite a few box office records, Shahrukh Khan’s Pathaan is now expected to hit the Rs. 1000 crore mark in the coming weeks.
On its second Friday, (February 10), the film managed to record over Rs. 5 crore collection maintaining its steady pace at the box office.
The film managed to earn a little over Rs 5 crore on Friday bringing the film’s total collection Rs 464 core nett in the domestic market. The Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion is the highest earning film in the domestic market with Rs 510.99 crore.
Pathaan, which revolves around an Indian spy trying to safeguard his country from a deadly attack, has enticed the audience and has brought them to the theaters in huge numbers.
Yash Raj Film productions shared on Friday that the worldwide gross box office collection of the film is nearing the Rs 900 crore mark.
However, RSVP founder and producer Ronnie Screwvala recently tweeted about Pathaan and Dangal’s box office figures, while quote-tweeting trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s latest updates about the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer’s commercial performance.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, read, “Just to be very factual and clear. Dangal is and will remain the highest grossing Hindi movie globally — just in China it did Rs 1200 crore plus. Just so we keep the record straight.”
