Srinagar: Popular South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu of ‘oo antava’ fame and actor Vijay Deverakonda have completed their shoot for the romantic flick ‘Kushi’ in the Kashmir valley.

The nearly month-long Kashmir shoot of ‘Kushi’ was wound up on Sunday even as both the actors received minor injuries while performing a stunt scene in South Kashmir tourist spot Pahalgam.

“Samantha and Vijay had got injured during a tough stunt scene on the Lidder stream in Pahalgam. During the shooting, their vehicle fell into the river and both suffered minor back injuries after which they had to be given some first aid,” a member of the crew accompanying the film stars told The Kashmir Monitor.

He said, on Sunday, the actors again complained of back pain while shooting in the interiors of Dal Lake after which physiotherapists had to be called in.

Yesterday, Samantha was spotted wearing a black burka, apparently to keep fans away, at Kashmir’s famous tourist spot Dal Lake even as the shooting for ‘Kushi’ was being held under strict security cover. The crew is scheduled to depart from Kashmir on Monday afternoon after the completion of the shoot.

Earlier, Samantha had taken to social media and shared photos of her experience in the Kashmir valley.

“Kashmir…I will always have this piece of my heart that smiles whenever I think about you” she had written on Instagram while sharing a photograph of Sonmarg resort that falls on the Kashmir-Ladakh axis.

She had also shared a photograph of a visit to a Srinagar city-based cafe to relish Kashmiri cuisines.

‘Kushi’ is scheduled for release on December 23 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.

Interestingly, ‘oo antava’ from the hit flick ‘Pushpa’ picturized on Samantha had become a rage across the music world and it was even rendered in the Kashmiri ‘chakri’ format.

Kashmiri folk singer Master Tasleem has made its Kashmir version and the song was released on the social media platform YouTube. The song was widely shared on other social media platforms like Facebook.

Earlier, several local singers had recorded the Kashmiri versions of the ‘Srivalli’ song, also from the Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa’.
