On Joint Hurriyat’s call: Funeral prayers in absentia held for slain in Tral

Srinagar, Dec 23: As per the Joint Hurriyat Program, separatist activists and workers offered Nimaz-e-Jinaza in absentia for militants killed at Tral in south Kashmir.

The spokesman said that Hurriyat (G) Conference leaders and workers including Molvi Bashir Irfani, Bilal Sidiqui, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Khawaja Firdous, Mubashir Iqbal, Saleem Zargar, Skeikh Musaib, Rameez Raja, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah and large number of people offered Nimaz-e-Jinaza in absentia at Hyderpora Srinagar, while as Shakeel Ahmad Bhat offered at Khanyar and Riyaz Ahmad, Gulzar Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad and others at Soura.

“The government brutality and its crimes against common people in Jammu and Kashmir are so grave and heart wrenching that they don’t need any excuse to highlight them, Hurriyat (G) Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said in a statement. Commenting on the statement by the Home Minister, wherein he had said: “Separatists in Kashmir use every opportunity to provoke the masses and incite anti-India Sentiment”.

Hurriyat chairman said that we have time and again reiterated our stand that we neither harbour any hatred against India nor we want or wish anything bad for the people of India. We wholeheartedly wish them good and honestly want them to live in peace and prosperity. We are not fond of criticizing India nor are we in search of any excuses to hammer you out.

Expressing deep shock and grief over the heavy death toll after a tsunami hit the coast on Indonesia’s Sunda Strait, Geelani said that human loss anywhere is painful. Natural tragedies unnerve and gloom a conscious soul, but are helpless to rectify it, as it is beyond his control.

Geelani expressed his deep condolence with the families of all those 8 persons killed in Uttarakhand tragic accident and also consoled the injured people in the same accident.

He said although death has a fixed date and time and every life has to perish, such tragedies are unfortunate and shocking. While condoled to the bereaved families for their irreparable loss, he prayed for eternal peace of departed souls and wished the injured, speedy recovery.
