Nokia 8110 with 4G now available for sale in India

Nokia 8110, which is a revamped 4G-ready version of the original Banana phone is now available in India. The phone’s availability was announced earlier this month along with the Nokia 3.1 Plus. HMD Global confirmed that Nokia 8110 sales will start in India from today, and the phone will be available across top mobile retailers in India. It will also be sold on Nokia.com/phones.

Nokia 8110 is a 4G VoLTE phone with a price of Rs 5,999. HMD Global is offering two colours to choose from: the Banana Yellow and a traditional Black option. As part of the launch offers, Jio Digital Life subscribers on Nokia 8110 will get up to 544 GB of Jio 4GB data free when they purchase this device.

The feature phone has a curved design and sports a slide-out keyboard cover. The phone has a 2.45-inch QVGA colour display and it runs KaiOS, which is also powering devices like the JioPhone, JioPhone 2 and other feature phones.

The phone runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 dual-core processor, which has clocked speeds of 1.1Ghz. There’s 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory with up to 128GB internal storage via a microSD card slot.

Given that Nokia 8110 runs KaiOS, it will include support for social media apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Twitter as well as Google Maps, Google Assistant. It is not clear if these apps will be rolled out later to Nokia 8110. The feature phone has a 1,500mAh battery and comes with a 2MP rear camera with single LED flash.

Nokia 8110 4G phone was first announced by the company at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in February.
