Srinagar, Apr 1: Reacting to the statement made by BJP’s national president, Amit Shah over Article 35-A and 370, the president, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), G A Mir on Monday said that no power can touch J&K special status.

Addressing a press conference here, Mir, flanked by AICC general secretary, Dr Shakeel Ahmad Khan, said that Article 370 is the only bridge between the state and union of India.
Amit Shah had said that Article 35-A will be abrogated by 2020.

“Promises of abrogation of Article 35-A and 370 were made in the past as well, people are well aware of the motive, they won’t get trapped,” Mir said.

In the press conference, Jammu and Kashmir Zamindar Forum announced its support to the Congress candidates in the upcoming elections.

President, JKZF, Abdul Hamid Malik said that “we would be supporting the congress candidates as it has accepted to include the recommendations put forth by us in the manifesto.”

“The recommendations once implemented, will give respite to the farmers and labourers. Ours is a well-known organization, working throughout the country for the welfare of labourers and farmers. It is for the first time, a party has given its nod to the recommendation put forward by a welfare body,” he said.
