Nigeen residence has been turned into a permanent sub-jail: Hurriyat (M)

Srinagar, Apr 16: Hurriyat Conference (M) strongly denounced the continuous house detention of its chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence.
In statement issued, the Hurriyat (M) said that Mirwaiz’s Nigeen residence has been turned into a permanent sub -jail where heavy deployment of police always remains outside the entrance gate to that he stayed caged and no one is allowed to meet him.
The Hurriyat said that Mirwaiz was supposed to chair amalgam’s general, executive council and working committee meeting, but as he continued to stay detained at home the meeting was cancelled as decisions could not taken without him.
The Hurriyat said that the recent announcement by authorities that Hurriyat leaders were free to move anywhere proved to be ‘humbug’ as Mirwaiz and other leaders including Syed Ali Geelani and Muhammad Yasin Malik remained under police detention most of the time.
The Hurriyat strongly condemned the government’s decision of caging Mirwaiz and other leaders, saying it’s the height of state high handedness and dictatorship.
The spokesman paid tributes to teenager Amir Hameed Lone of Kangan, Ganderbal, who succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS on Sundayafter being hit by bullets of forces in a the funeral procession of Gowher Ahmed.
The spokesman said that Delhi forces are implementing planned genocide of Kashmir’s young to forces the people and the resistance leadership into a submission.
He expressed condolences and solidarity with the family members of slain Aamir.
