Hajira Begum, mother of Senior journalist Nazir Masoodi passed away on Friday evening after being hospitalized in SKIMS Srinagar for a few days.
As per family sources, Hajira was admitted to SKIMS after she was not feeling well for a days.
She breathed her last Friday evening and was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard in north Kashmir’s Kupwara.
A number of people including journalists, politicians and businessmen expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.

Director Information and Public Relations, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar condoled the sad demises.
In this connection, a condolence meet was held in the office chambers of Director Information in which all the officers participated. Dr. Sehrish and other participants expressed deep sorrow and grief over their demises.
Dr. Sehrish also offered her deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage for the bereaved families to bear their irreparable losses.
Veteran journalists and politicians expressed grief over the loss.
Omar Abdullah, a former CM of J-K, said, “Very sorry to hear about the tragic demise of [Masoodi’s] mother. May Allah grant her place in Jannat and may Nazir and the rest of her family find strength at this difficult time.”
Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti wrote: “Heartfelt condolences to Nazir Masoodi & family on the passing away of his mother today. Losing a parent is never easy & hope god gives him strength. Allah Ta’aala maghfirat farmayain.”
