SRINAGAR, JULY 22: The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Field Office Branch MSME DFO Srinagar, in collaboration with Greenovator Incubation Foundation (GIF), NIT Srinagar, commenced a week-long specialized Management Development Program from today.
The program, aimed at enhancing Business Marketing Management skills with a focus on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal, witnessed enthusiastic participation from MSMEs in both manufacturing and service sectors, along with several start-ups.
In his welcome address, Shahid Abbas Mir, CEO of GIF, emphasized the critical need for innovation in today’s business landscape and highlighted GIF’s ongoing efforts in mentoring start-ups.
Dr. Saad Parvez, Principal Investigator at GIF, underscored the significance of academia-industry collaboration, citing successful implementations of MSME schemes over the past seven years and notable innovations like the saffron processing machine at MSME Incubation Centre.
Assistant Director MSME, Saheel Alaqband in his keynote address stressed the importance of MSMEs familiarizing themselves with various marketing tools, particularly highlighting the indispensable role of the GeM Portal.
He outlined the tailored nature of the training for MSMEs, which includes topics such as Digital Marketing, SEO, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He also delivered a detailed presentation on the strategic importance of IPR in the global market.
Afaq Qadri, President of the Industrial Association at Integrated Textile and Handicrafts Park urged MSMEs to embrace adaptability in the face of industry changes and emphasized the need for GIF to extend its facilities and consultancy services to the broader industry. He acknowledged the exceptional infrastructure at NIT Srinagar and called for its accessibility to all MSMEs in a streamlined manner.
The training session was led by Aijaz Amin, who conducted an in-depth session on navigating the GeM Portal, providing practical insights into its utilization for business growth.
