Militants lob two grenades in Tral

Srinagar, July 9: Militants on Monday fired a rifle grenade towards a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that the militants fired a grenade towards the 180 Battalion CRPF camp in main town, which exploded with a bang. The grenade according to police missed the target and exploded in the premises resulting in the loss of life and property. Shortly after the attack, a search operation was launched; however, no arrests were made. In another attack, government forces fired a couple of rounds in retaliation after militants lobbed a grenade on Para-military troopers at Batagund Tral area. Police sources said that militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF 180 Battalion at Butagund Tral. However, there were no reports of any injuries. Witnesses added that CRPF troopers fired couple of round in air that created panic in the area. After the attack, searches were conducted in the area. (CNS)
