Militant recruitment has come down, situation to be reviewed in few days: DGP

Srinagar, June 12: Director General Police Dr S P Vaid on Tuesday said hat recruitment of militants has come down in recent days after the announcement of ceasefire and an improvement in law & order situation during the holy month of Ramadhan has brought respite to the people in Kashmir valley particularly restive areas of South Kashmir districts.
Director General Police said “recruitment of militants has declined in recent days and ceasefire has brought respite to the people in Kashmir valley particularly south Kashmir districts. We will review the situation after few days and take some more measures for stability of peace and order in the state.”
Reacting to the killing of two policemen in a militant attack at court complex Pulwama Director General Police said “Some elements inimical to peace in the state are trying to derail the peace process. We will review the situation to ensure that attacks like the one at court complex Pulwama resulting in death of two policemen don’t reoccur.” (KNS)
