Srinagar, Apr 19: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting moderate rain, intense showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across many areas in the next 6 to 8 hours.
Residents have been advised to take precautions and avoid outdoor movement during the spell of inclement weather. “People are urged to stay indoors or move to safe shelters, and stay away from water bodies, unstable structures, and landslide-prone zones,” the MeT said.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as needed.
