Srinagar, Apr 2: Lashing out at BJP, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday said that nobody will uphold the Indian flag in J&K if Article 370 is even touched.
She said that if Article 370 is eroded, the mainstream political parties of Kashmir who swore on the constitution of India and J&K “too will have to think on their stand.”
Reacting to the statement made by BJP’s national president, Amit Shah over Article 35-A and 370, the PDP president said that “no power on earth can touch” J&K’s special status.
“Amit shah sahab, you are seeing ‘mungeri lal ke sapne’ (unattainable dreams) if you think you can revoke Article 370. It is the only bridge between the state and union of India and if the special provision of the Constitution was revoked, then New Delhi would have to renegotiate its relationship with J&K,” she said.
“When PDP will come to the power they will revoke and fight for ban on JKLF and JeI,” she said, adding that “harassments” by NIA on Syed Ali Geelani will not reveal any fruitful product.
She also hits out at NC, saying that in past when NC had 2/3rd majority they could have achieved a lot that time.
“But now making tall promises is a mere election stunt,” she said.
Mehbooba Mufti further said that the crackdown and NIA raids on Hurriyat leadership will not yield any results. She said such actions are being taken by the BJP in view of the parliament polls to create an impression across the country that the BJP led government has a harsh stand on Kashmir and the separatists.
“Seizing property of Geelani, raids on Mirwaiz Umar Farooq are all a part of this poll game,” Mehbooba said.
Mehbooba said that PDP’s efforts will be to revoke all these kinds of bans and harassment.
