Srinagar, August 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, today appreciated the role of DD Kashir in inculcating the values and cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
LG Manoj Sinha said this while attending a special program on Meri Maati Mera Desh organized by DD Kashir at Srinagar.
While welcoming LG Manoj Sinha, Head of Programs, DDK Srinagar, Rabia Rasool lauded the vision of Sinha who has been leading the development journey of Jammu and Kashmir that has ensured peace and prosperity of the region.
During the program, short films were shown about the overview of programs produced and shown on DD Kashir. One more short film shown was about the developmental journey of Jammu and Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370.
During his address, LG Manoj Sinha greeted the audience on the eve of the 78th Independence Day and offered his salutations to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in upholding the freedom and dignity of India. He highlighted the role of Doordarshan by saying that DD has always been at the forefront of the preservation of local art, culture, and heritage while promoting a sense of nationalism.
Carrying along the idea of Unity in Diversity, LG said, the citizens have to march forward to continue striving to build the nation and its pillars stronger carrying the legacy of its freedom fighters.
While remembering the supreme sacrifices of Bapu, Nehru, and Tilak, Sh. Sinha asks to take their sacrifices as an example to build and strengthen the society.
LG further said that the performances today are a mirror that depicts the importance of inculcating nationalistic sentiments. He cautioned about the negative forces that always try to divide the nation and continue strengthening the resolve to keep the integrity strong. He said that 1 crore 40 lakh people of Jammu and Kashmir are aspiring for peace and development.
While presenting the vote of thanks, Joint Director, RNU DDK Srinagar, Sh. Qazi Salman said, the screenings today have showcased the tremendous potential and cultural richness of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and thanked the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for attending the program.
The event was attended by VC Central University of Kashmir, Prof. A. Ravindernath, DDG, DD Kashir, P.P Shukla, DDG Global Outreach Prasar Bharati, Prakash Veer Tyagi, DDG (E), Sanjeev Sugam, Joint Director and other dignitaries.
