SRINAGAR: To encourage an environment of collaboration and curiosity-driven exploration and a collective commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and scientific innovation, the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kashmir University (KU), Tuesday celebrated the National Science Day 2024 here.
KU’s Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof Farooq Ahmad Masoodi; Dean, School of Applied Sciences and Technology, Prof Zulfiqar Ali Bhat; Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah; and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof Mubashir Hussain Masoodi attended the function.
On the occasion, while underlining the commitment to excellence and scientific advancement within the university, Prof Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, emphasised the crucial role of academic institutions in fostering scientific curiosity and innovation. “We need to encourage curiosity-driven exploration and a collective commitment towards knowledge and scientific innovation,” Prof Masoodi added.
Prof Zulfiqar Ali Bhat, commended the event for its valuable contribution to advancing scientific discourse within the university. “It is really important to recognise the importance of such initiatives for these have a positive impact on the academic community’s engagement with cutting-edge research and technological advancements,” he said.
Event Convenor, Prof Mubashir Masoodi, provided a comprehensive introduction about the significance of the day’s and origin. He also underlined the historical and scientific importance of the National Science Day while encouraging a deeper appreciation for the field.
Titled ‘Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat’, the event featured lectures by distinguished speakers, Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah and Dr Javaid Ahmad Sheik. Topics like ‘Surging the Sense of Society for Science’ and ‘Medical Applications of Electromagnetics’, demonstrated the diverse and impactful nature of scientific advancements.
