‘Sory-telling has been very close to Kashmiris. I remember how we cherished dastangoi on radio back in 90’s. This is just a contemporary rendition of the same old tradition. So for us, it naturally becomes interesting to have an intimate storytelling session here and of course the workshop to groom aspirants”, Irfan Bukhari, Co-founder – Yarbal Creatives& Cafe Pirates.
”The last time we brought kommune here gave us enough belief that there aint no dearth of storytellers in kashmir. However, this time the artists coming here are very experienced. The workshop that’ll be conducted by these artists is definitely going to help aspiring writers, poets or storytellers and also inspire others towards this feild of art and creativity”, Faisal Bhat, Co-founder – Yarbal Creatives& Cafe Pirates.
Director Kommune, Hari Sanker said feels that Kashmir is a pool of talent and people here seem to be born storytellers. “Last year we organized a show with Yarbal Creatives and the kind of content and maturity of stories made us feel honored that we came here with our platform,” he said.
The event at both venues will end with a live performance by AnkurTewari, one of the top contemporary independent musicians.
Kommune was founded in 2015 by Roshan Abbas, GauravKapur and AnkurTewari, all of whom are in the arts and media industries.
