Srinagar, Apr 1: Social activist and advocate Talib Hussain Chowdhary on Monday joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in presence of the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
Welcoming the tribal rights activist, Mehbooba said that Talib “fought tirelessly to ensure justice for Rasana rape and murder victim at the cost of his personal safety”.
She also hoped that Talib will work tirelessly towards the party’s “khushaal J&K” vision as well.
“Happy to welcome well known tribal rights activist Chowdhary Talib Hussain into PDP today. He fought tirelessly to ensure justice for Rasana rape victim at the cost of his personal safety. I’m confident he will work tirelessly towards our vision for a khushaal J&K,” Mehbooba wrote on her official twitter handle.
Pertinently, Talib was very instrumental in Rasana tragedy and fought to ensure justice to the victim. In January 2018, an eight year old girl was raped and then murdered in Rasana village of Kathua district.
