A 32-year-old woman from Prayagraj jumped into a river but her 30-year-old boyfriend backs out at the last minute
The couple had been in love for several years. Due to family pressure, they were married to different persons.
Unable to bear the separation, the lovers decided to end their lives by jumping into the Yamuna river.
The couple met at the New Yamuna Bridge. As per the plan, the woman jumped into the river. However, the man backed out and fled the spot.
However, the twist to the tale came when the woman, who was an expert swimmer, swam to safety. Feeling betrayed, the woman lodged a complaint against the man on charges of attempt to murder at the Kydganj police station.
