Srinagar, Oct 20: Junaid Azim Mattu, who left National Conference after the latter boycotted the polls, was declared the winner in three Srinagar wards in the results of the recently concluded J&K Municipal Polls.
Mattu won from Solina, Bod Dal, and Rawalpora municipal wards of the summer capital getting 157 votes, 1083, and 168 votes respectively.
He, however, lost in Brane where he could manage only 98 votes as against the highest 113 that went to one independent candidate, Aqib Ahmad Renzu.
“CHANGE has come to Srinagar – a city that deserves the best for what it has witnessed and endured! May Allah bless the newly elected corporators and may they deliver an honest, efficient and decisively progressive governance! Humbled!” Mattu tweeted on Saturday.
