JKLF (R) remembers ‘martyr’ Ghulam Nabi Mir

Srinagar, Jan 19: A meeting was held in Sheher-e-Khaas after Friday prayers on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Ghulam Nabi Mir, father of JKLF (R) Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir and 55 other martyrs of Gow Kadal Srinagar.
A JKLF (R) spokesman said that while addressing the meeting Javaid Mir said: “At the very inception of present armed struggle in Kashmir, forces during a night raid in 1988 arrested my father Ghulam Nabi Mir along with father of Shaheed Kashmir Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Haji Abdul Majeed Wani, Haji Abdul Kabir Sheikh, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Engineer Saif ud din Shangloo and took them along to notorious BSF Interrogation Centre Papa Two.”
“After facing tortures for 12 months there, Ghulam Nabi Mir was shifted to Central Jail Srinagar wherein he suffered from the paralysis. He was then shifted to the SKIMS wherein he breathed his last on between January 20th and 21st night 1992,” said the JKLF (R) spokesperson.
“He thus joined the list of the martyrs of the Kashmir who gave their precious lives presented their precious lives for the cause,” he added.
Javaid Mir, on the occasion said that he was proud on his father who devoted his life for the Kashmir cause.
