J&K approves procurement of 60 vehicles

Srinagar, Sep 3: The Home Department J&K has sanctioned to procure 60 vehicles, costing Rs 791.20 lakh, for police officers.  

The vehicles to be procured by the J&K police include 20 Maruti Ertiga for AIG/Staff officers, 15 Mahindra Scorpio for DIGs/COs/SSPs, 11 Mahindra Bolero B6 for Dy Commandants/Addl SsP, 2 Mahindra Bolero for B4 for Dy SsP, 7 Innova Crysta and 5 motorcycles.

The cost of 60 vehicles has been estimated to be around Rs. 791.20 lakh. “The brand of vehicles is merely for illustrative purposes and shall in no case be construed as an endorsement of brand-specific vehicles or rates by the vehicles,” the Home Department said.

It was also said that FA/CAO, PHQ shall vouchsafe the availability of funds for affecting the purchase. “The purchase shall be made after observing all codal formalities and due procedure has been followed by PHQ as envisaged in GFR-2017,” it added.
