Srinagar, September 9: Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, a leading general insurance company in India with a significant client base in J&K and Ladakh, held a meeting with advisor Pawan Kotwal of Ladakh (UT). For Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, the team was headed by Aijaz Khan, Executive Vice President and Project Head, State Insurance Plan.
A statement issued by the company said a wide spectrum of insurance products and the spread of general insurance in the vast region of Ladakh UT to cater to the requirements of insurance in the far-flung areas of the Ladakh region was discussed. Aijaz Khan also discussed various initiatives already taken by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Co Ltd in J&K (UT) and implementation of the same for the betterment of the people of Ladakh. He also laid emphasis on the vision of IRDAI, i.e., Insurance for all by 2047.
Emphasis was laid on increasing penetration of insurance by identifying insurance gaps, understanding public needs and UT’s growth plan, designing suitable insurance solutions, creating insurance awareness, engaging with UT officials, and employment generation. Since Ladakh is highly vulnerable to natural and anthropogenic hazards and prone to catastrophic losses, a plan was suggested by Aijaz Khan, Head of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance company, to mitigate the financial worries of the people of Ladakh by way of various insurance products.
“The meeting was very fruitful, and the suggestions of the advisor to LG were noted and will be taken care of in the creation of insurance products specific to Ladakh (UT),” the statement added.
