Srinagar, Mar 18: A day after the separatist leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani rejected the offer of talks made by an official of the Intelligence Bureau, National Conference senior leader Mustafa Kamal on Sunday said that India uses separatist leadership against National Conference.
“Separatist Leadership is the pawn in the hands of India and Pakistan. And India uses them against National Conference and Pakistan uses them against India,” said Mustafa Kamal.
Hurriyat on Friday in an issued statement stated that on Thursday night an IB official proposed a dialogue between New Delhi and Syed Ali Geelani. “Geelani declined the offer, saying that until the Kashmir dispute is addressed in its historical perspective and India acknowledges the disputed status of the Kashmir and starts demilitarization to hold a referendum, holding any talks carries no meaning,” said G.A. Gulzar, the spokesperson of Hurriyat (G), quoting his leader.
Talking to KNS over phone he added that he is unaware of agenda behind Hurriyat’s rejection. “Their aim to thrash National Conference badly.”
However, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the government was keen on finding a permanent solution to the Kashmir problem and was open to speak to anyone.
When KNS contacted Dineshwar Sharma, New Delhi’s special representative for Jammu and Kashmir to comment on how the government will move ahead when Hurriyat conference has refused to talk, he said, “I would not like to comment on this. Any controversy at the moment will worsen the situation.” (KNS)
