On similar lines to Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim, another actress Sana Khan has decided to leave the showbiz for religious reasons. Sana, who has been a part of Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho and had also participated in the sixth season of Bigg Boss, took to social media to announce her decision.
The actress shared a long note, explaining the reason behind her decision to quit the entertainment industry. “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Brothers and sisters,” wrote the actress as she shared that she’s standing at a crucial juncture of her life.
She explained that she’s been living the showbiz life for years and all throughout, she was blessed with fame, honour and wealth. Sana thanked her fans for all the love. However, the actress said that she’s been pondering over some thoughts for the past few days now. “But for a few days now, I have been possessed of the realization that: Is the real purpose of man’s coming into this world only to chase wealth and fame?,” she wrote.
“Isn’t it a part of his/her duty to spend his/her life in the service of those who are needy and helpless? Shouldn’t a person think that he/she could die at any moment? And what will happen to him after he/she is no more? I have been searching for answers to these two questions for a long period of time, especially the second question as to what will happen to me after my death?” she further added in her post.
The actress said that she’s been searching for the answer to these two questions, especially the second one, for a long time now.
Further, the actress said that when she searched for the answer to this question in her religion, she realised that “this life in the world is actually for the betterment of life-after-death. And it will not be better, she said, if the “slave” makes fame and wealth their only goal and rather he/she should avoid sinful life, serve humanity and follow the path shown by their Creator.
“Therefore, I declare today that from today onwards, I have resolved to say goodbye to my Showbiz lifestyle forever and serve humanity and follow the order of my Creator. All brothers and sisters are requested to pray for me to Allah to accept my repentance and grant me the true ability to live in accordance with my determination of spending my life following the commandments of my Creator and in the service of humanity, and grant me perseverance in it,” she concluded as she announced her decision. She also asked all her “brothers and sisters” to not consult her for any work regards to the showbiz.
Last year, Zaira had announced that while she received a lot of love, support and applause for her work in films, she felt her religion was threatened. She felt that it also lead her to a path of ignorance as she “silently” and “unconsciously” transitioned out of imaan (faith). The actress had taken to social media to share her decision.
