Srinagar, Jan 05: The peoples’ democratic party vice-president Sartaj Madani castigated the opposition parties of the state over raking up lame issues during the present budget session that contain more chaos and least clarity.
Madani told that the opposition is at present facing severe paucity of issues that it could raise in the assembly and therefore is striving to rake up the matters which are least concerned to the common masses of the state. Madani was referring to the opposition parties decision to move no confidence motion against LA Speaker and LC chairman.
The PDP vice president said that the series of pro-people measures taken by the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti have left the opposition red faced and short of issues. “You can ask the achievement of this government to the sixty thousand families of the daily wagers who have been regularised by the present government. You can find the solace in the hearts of those parents who have seen their kids being freed from stone pelting charges. The fact is that the opposition has no issue to discuss in the assembly and in a bid to stay relevant and grab headlines, it is enacting the very cheap theatrics,” Madani told KNS.
He, however, said that the opposition has a role in every democratic set-up and the beauty of democracy is that the opposition can rake up issues and demand answers from the government. “The government is ready to address whatever concerns the opposition parties have. Let them do what they want,” Madni said.
He added that in view of the second death anniversary of PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, congregational Fateha will be offered at his grave located at Dara Shikoh Park, Anantnag. He added that the party would firm up its resolve to realise the dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed which was peace and prosperity for the inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir.
