Srinagar, Oct 12: After schools, government on Saturday announced the examination schedule for colleges in Kashmir.
Chairing a meeting of top officials including Controller of Examination, Kashmir University and Director Colleges, Secretary Higher Education Talat Parvaiz Rohella, said all college examinations will be completed by the end of December.
“The examination process will begin by the end of this month. Examination date sheets will be framed by October 21 in consultation with Kashmir University and Principals of Degree Colleges,” Rohella said.
Secretary Higher Education said study material has been made available for the students of all the semesters in all the degree colleges of Kashmir.
“We will make transport facility available for the students so that they will not face any problem in reaching exam centers,” Rohella later told The Kashmir Monitor.
Controller of Examination, Kashmir University, Farooq Ahmad Shah told The Kashmir Monitor that the examination of first and fourth semesters will be held by the last week of October.
“Examination of remaining fifth and sixth semesters will be conducted in November. Examination of 3rd semester will be conducted later after distributing study material among the students since their syllabus is yet to be completed,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, Secretary Higher Education also reviewed the development works including land accusation for new colleges, infrastructural grants for new colleges, digital class room projects, upgradation of existing colleges and vocational courses.
“Instructions have been issued about the requisite formalities shall be completed on priority basis as there is no dearth of funds in the education sector,” he added.
