GMC Sgr hosts CME to commemorate ‘World Anatomy Day’

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 16: Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar today hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event, titled ‘Integrating Genetics in Clinical Practice,’ to commemorate ‘World Anatomy Day.’

The one day CME was aimed to emphasize genetics-based diagnosis, targeted therapies, and improved patient outcomes.

Principal/ Dean Govt Medical college Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan  inaugurated the event. Chief Guest of this CME, Prof. Kulbeer Kour Ex HOD of Anatomy, GMC Srinagar congratulated the department of Anatomy for playing a proactive role in keeping pace with the latest trends in the field of Anatomy and also threw light on how genetics can be integrated in clinical practice.

Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan in her address emphasised that Anatomy is the foundation of medical science. As future healthcare professionals, understanding anatomy is crucial for diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

Prof. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat HOD Deptt of Anatomy GMC Srinagar deliberated on ‘Role of Genetics in Medicine,’ highlighting its diagnostic, predictive, therapeutic, and preventive roles.

Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah, Prof. (Dr.) Abdus Sami, Dr. Javed Ahmad Khan, Dr. Uzma Rasool, Dr. Maheen Nazir and other speakers highlighted the importance of study of genetics and its role in diagnosis and treatment The CME provided a platform for knowledge exchange, professional growth, and networking opportunities. Administrator Associated Hospitals, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Deputy Registrar Academics Dr Mohammad Saleem Ittoo, HODs and faculty members also attended the day long CME.
