Srinagar:  Tourism players today met G20 delegates and discussed the revival of movie shootings in Jammu and Kashmir.

Those who met the delegates include representatives of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK), the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries(KCCI), the Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association (KHARA), the Houseboat Owners Association, and others.

As per the stakeholders, the delegates were very keen to know about the scope of film tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Today’s agenda was film tourism and we on the sidelines discussed the topic. The delegates were very keen to know about films and other facilities in Jammu and Kashmir,” said President TAAK Farooq Ahmad Kuthoo.

He said the tourism players convinced them that Kashmir is an apt place for shooting movies.

“We informed them that various big Bollywood banners including Yash Raj Films, Dharma Production, and others have shot films here which were successful at the box office. We told them that they did not face any problems here. We also informed them about the film policy launched by the government recently and incentives to the producers under this policy,” Kuthoo said.

He said the delegates praised the beauty of Kashmir and the scope of film tourism in the union territory.

“They were mesmerized by the beauty of Kashmir. Throughout the discussion they praised the natural beauty of Kashmir,”  he said.

Tourism players said they will also take up the issue of travel advisories with the delegates. “We will take up this issue in the coming two days and hope for respite from their side,” Kuthoo said.
