G20 India: Ladakh unveils one-of-a-kind ice sculpture

As a part of city beautification, Ladakh has unveiled the G20 India Ice Sculpture in the union territory.

The G20 India Ice Sculpture was prepared in collaboration with the Kangsing team as Ladakh is ready to host Y20 India in Leh from April 26-28.

The authorities in Ladakh will be making local Ladakhi culture and traditions an integral part of the event.

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) had held a meeting with the Principal Secretary, Sanjeev Khirwar, at Raj Niwas earlier this week, and reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Youth 20 (Y20) pre-summit.

During the meeting with the Principal Secretary, the press statement said that the Ladakh LG inquired about the steps being taken to tackle the crisis points including, the arrangement of medical facilities, lodging & boarding, transportation and security and theft.
It said that the Principal Secretary Khirwar informed LG that officials from across the globe are expected to arrive in Leh for the event for which arrangements such as emergency medical facilities, standard operating procedures (SOPs), boarding and lodging, transportation and security arrangements have been put in place already. He further informed that all the arrangements are being made with close coordination with officials from the Government of India.
