Srinagar: Two more militants were killed during the ongoing encounter between militants and government forces in Kiloora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian, police said on Friday.
With them, four militants have so far been killed in the gunfight even as the identity of the slain is yet to be confirmed.
News agency GNS quoting sources said that “during live action one militant was caught alive.”
Earlier, a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Kiloora.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
Meanwhile, security forces busted a Hideout in Midoora area of Tral in Awantipora of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A senior police officer said that acting on a specific information a joint team of Police, army’s 44RR and CRPF busted a militant Hideout in Midoora.
During this operation, blankets and some eatable items were recovered from the spot. (GNS)
