Forces have terrified Kashmir masses: JKDFP

Srinagar, July 9: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has vehemently denounced the civilian killings by government forces throughout the valley which has created a panic among the masses and a sense of insecurity. In a statement, spokesperson of JKDFP said that only two days back the brutal killings of Shakir Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad and a minor girl Andleeb at Havora, Redwani area of Kulgam district by government forces speaks volumes of the alarming situation in the disputed region. These gruesome incidents which are a routine in the Kashmir valley in particular have frightened the general masses as they feel their lives, property and honour at risk because the Indian forces and other men in uniform have spread a reign of terror in nook and corner. The men in uniform have been given free hand to scuttle people’s basic freedoms and it aims only to suppress the genuine freedom struggle. People are being massacred, their properties are being damaged, long queues are being witnessed outside police stations and people’s voices like JKDFP chief Shabir Shah have been jailed. Instead of resolving the basic issue of Kashmir, the government of India has resorted to harassing and intimidating the hapless people whenever they try to raise any voice against the state-sponsored atrocities. New Delhi has a one point policy to silence the people of Kashmir who demand and fight for their right of self-determination accomplished at international level. Expressing solidarity with the families of the three Havora, Redwani families, JKDFP strongly condemned the brutal murder of three innocent civilians and using force against unarmed protesters resulting in the injuries to many. JKDFP appealed the International Human Rights Organizations to take cognizance of the sordid situation of Kashmir and exert their influence to get it stopped.
